WoodMaster’s process for parquet floor varnishing:

• Step 1 – Free site survey and written estimate. We will also arrange a time and date for the service to be completed.
• Step 2 – Fully strip the boards to remove all previous lacquer and oils. This will bring back the original boards’ surface. Our industrial belt and planetary sanding machines make the floorboards smooth and flat. We also have a 3 head machine custom-made for newly engineered boards. We use this where belt sanders can’t be used.
• Step 3 – We strip the previous sealer from the edges, all the way to the skirting. We will use our dustless edging machines, then treat the floor with our 3 head finishing machine to get rid of any micro-abrasions caused during the sanding process. This leaves the floor smooth and prepared for sealer.
• Step 4 – We demonstrate samples of finishes and stain options. A natural lacquer can also be or you can also choose one of our many stains to get a different look for the floor.
• Step 5 – We apply the first coat of protection to your parquet floor.
• Step 6 – When the first coat is dry we lightly sand the floor once more to smooth all areas.
• Step 7  Two coats of our top finish, either a 1 or 2 pack of lacquer depending on the wood. If you require a higher level of smoothness, or if the colour of the wood has been changed, we will apply oils too.
• Step 8 – We’re done. Your parquet floors will be ready for light foot traffic, and after a few hours your furniture can be brought back.
