WoodMaster’s solid floor restoration process:

• Step 1 – We carry out a site survey at no charge and offer a full written estimate to establish the requirements and best potential options for your floor. We’ll agree on the full cost of the project and arrange suitable dates for work to be complete, arriving at a time that causes minimum disruption to the operation of your business. 
• Step 2 – When we arrive, we’ll begin with a complete sanding of boards to strip old lacquer and oils, bringing back virgin boards. Our industrial belt and planetary sanding machines ensure a smooth and flat board, giving it a beautiful finish. We have invested in a new 3 head machine that is perfect for modern engineered boards where belt sanders are not suitable for use, so whatever your floor type, we have the equipment to refurbish it.
• Step 3 – We strip old sealers around the edges and up to the skirting boards using our dustless edging machines, then treat the floor with our specialist 3 head finishing machine, which removes micro fine scratches created during the sanding process, leaving the floor smooth and ready for the application of sealer.
• Step 4 – We can give you a demo of finishes / stain options on your floor so you get an idea of what it’ll look like and choose your finish. At this point we can also apply a natural lacquer, for a natural but durable finish. We can also use a stain to add colour if you would like to change the look of the floor completely.
• Step 5 – Next we apply a base coat to fill up the wood and give its initial stage of protection.  
• Step 6 – With the base coat dry, we carry out a light sand the floor one last time to remove any areas that emerge up from the base coat of sealer. This finally prepares the floor for the ultimate finish.
• Step 7 – We apply 2 coats of top finish. This can be a 1 or 2 pack lacquer depending on the use, or we can apply oils when a colour change or high level of smoothness is asked for. 
• Step 8 –  Once dry, the floor is now ready for sign up. It is normally ready to be walked on at least in socks and slippers after just a few hours. Furniture can generally be moved back at this point.
