• Step 1 – Before the restoration begins, we will fulfil a full site survey. We will give a free quote and discuss the requirements of your floor and business. After that, we will confirm the full cost of the project and book a suitable time and date for the work to be completed. 
• Step 2 – The first step in the restoration is to completely strip the floor to restore the virgin boards. We will use our large industrial belt and planetary sanding machines to make the boards smooth and flat. This will create a beautifully smooth finish. We have a new 3 head machine custom made for modern engineered boards where belt sanders can’t be used.
• Step 3 – Next, we strip the old sealers right up to the skirting boards with our dustless edging machines. After that, we then treat the floor with our 3 head finishing machine to remove any fine scratches caused by the sanding process. Now the wooden floor is ready for the sealer.
• Step 4 – We can give you a demonstration of finishes and stain options so you have an idea about what the floor will look like when the restoration is complete. At this point in the process, we can also apply a natural lacquer which provides a durable finish. We can even change the colour of the floor with a stain if you want to alter the floor more dramatically.
• Step 5 – The next step involves the application of a base coat. This will fill up the wood and provide the first layer of protection.  
• Step 6 – We will then lightly sand the floor one final time to remove any areas that stick up from the base coat of the sealer. Now the floor is ready for the final finish.
• Step 7 – Next, we will apply 2 coats of top finish. This will be a 1 or 2 pack lacquer depending on the condition of the floor. We can apply oils if a colour change has taken place or if the maximum level of smoothness is required. 
• Step 8 – Once the topcoat is dry, the floor is ready for sign-off. You can usually walk on the floor with socks and slippers after a few hours. Furniture can be gently moved back into position at this point. 

Once the work is complete, full maintenance advice can be given and after-care products will be provided if requested.
