Solid hardwood flooring usually has a pre-finish so it is prepared for use as soon as it’s fitted. However, in areas that endure many spills or have high foot traffic, it is recommended that an additional coat of lacquer is applied.
Regular wood floor cleaning with TileMaster Leamington Spa
You can protect the lifespan of your wooden floor with day-to-day maintenance like vacuuming and sweeping. Wood floors should also be mopped occasionally. If your wood floors have a larger surface area, the best option could be the TileMaster 40 machine or the TileMaster Scrubber dryer machine. TileMaster Cleaner No. 1 solution is also recommended if there is heavy soil to remove from the wooden floor. This solution can be mixed with water or added directly to the scrubber dryer.
Any floors that have been re-lacquered recently should not be cleaned for at least three days (72 hours).
Important information when using water
If using water for cleaning for your floor, try to use as little as possible. Make sure that your mop is well wrung out, any excess pools can result in water damage such as swelling.
Light restoration
If your wooden floor has lost its shine, use our specialist refresh product to repair minor scratches. For heavy damage, we carry out a gentle sand with a mesh disk and top up the lacquer. This restores dull-looking surfaces and protects the floor from the initial sanded.
Long-term wood floor maintenance tips
Over time, the lacquered surface will naturally become faded and more dull. The floor should be cleaned with care, gently sanded and then re-coated with lacquer. The length of time between maintenance coats should be decided by the amount of foot traffic on the floor.
If the floors are in busy commercial environments like shops and restaurants, those will require resealing more frequently homes. Make sure the floors are resealed before the lacquer wears through to the bare wood beneath. Regular inspection during cleaning and maintenance will help ensure this.

How to prevent slips and trips
Junckers floor should be slip resistant if it is professionally maintained and installed. However, spillages will still make the floor slippery. To limit the likelihood of an accident you should clean up spills immediately.
Using adhesive tape and masking materials
We recommend the use of low-tack tapes to avoid damage. The adhesive on tape can have a very high tack value, which can strip the protective layer of lacquer if you remove the tape too quickly.
