● Step 1 – Full site survey. We provide a full quote and discuss the requirements of your floor. We confirm the full cost of the project and arrange a suitable time and date for the work.
● Step 2 – We strip the floor to the bare boards. We use our large industrial belt and planetary sanding machines to create a wonderfully smooth finish.
● Step 3 – We strip old sealers up to the skirting boards using dustless edging machines. After that, we treat the floor using a 3 head finishing machine to remove any scratches caused during sanding.
● Step 4 – We demonstrate finishes and stains so you see what the floor can look like when the restoration is finished. We can apply natural lacquer or change the colour of the floor with a stain if you prefer.
● Step 5 – We then apply the base coat. This fills up the wood grain and provides protection from wear.
● Step 6 – We lightly sand the floor once more to remove any areas that stick up from the base coat.
● Step 7 – We apply 2 coats of top finish, a 1 or 2 pack lacquer depending on the condition of the wood. We apply oils if a colour change has taken place or if an increased level of smoothness is requested.
● Step 8 – Once the topcoat is dry, the floor is ready for sign-off. After a few hours you can walk on the floor gently in socks and slippers. Furniture can be replaced once the floor is completely dry.
