The WoodMaster floor staining process:
● Step 1 – We provide a written estimate and discuss the best approach for your floor. We agree on the cost and then schedule a suitable time and date to work.
● Step 2 – Full sanding to strip away all old lacquer & oils. This brings back the bare boards. Our industrial belt and planetary sanding machines leave the wood smooth and flat.
● Step 3 – When the old sealer is stripped, we treat the floor using a 3 head finishing machine. This sands out any micro-fine scratches. At this point, the floor is ready for the sealer.
● Step 4 – We demo possible finishes and stain options. We apply these to your floor so you can see what the finish will look like. Stains can be applied if you would like to alter the colour of the floor, or natural lacquer will preserve the original look.
● Step 5 – A base coat will fill up the wood and establish the first layer of protection.
● Step 6 – When the base coat is dry, we sand the floor once more to remove any areas that prickle up. This readies the floor for the final coats of finish.
● Step 7 – We apply two coats of top finish, either a 1 or 2 pack lacquer depending on the type of wood. We apply oils when a colour change or increased smoothness has been requested.
● Step 8 – When everything is dry, the floor is ready. We’ll advise you on how long to leave the floor before walking on it.
When the work is finished, we will provide maintenance advice & recommendations for after-care products.

Depending on the type of wood and condition, excellent results can be achieved with our restoration services as we are bringing back a fresh new layer of the wood.
