• Step 1 – We will carry out a full site survey and provide a free quote and discuss the requirements of your floor. We then confirm the full cost of the restoration and discuss a suitable time and date to attend. 
• Step 2 – We completely strip the floor to bring back the virgin boards. We use an industrial belt and planetary sanding machine to make the boards smooth and flat. This sets the foundations for a beautifully smooth finish. We carry a new 3 head machine for use on modern engineered boards where belt sanders are not suitable.
• Step 3 – We strip the old sealers up to the skirting boards using specialist edging machines. We treat the floor with a 3 head finishing machine, which removes any fine scratches caused during the sanding process. Now the wooden floor is prepared for applying the sealer.
• Step 4 – We present a demonstration of finish and stain options to offer an impression of what the floor will look like when the restoration is complete. Alternatively we can apply a natural lacquer for a simple durable finish. Alternatively we can change the colour of the floor using a stain for a more dramatic look.
• Step 5 – A base coat is applied to fill up the wood and provide the initial layer of protection.  
• Step 6 – We lightly sand the floor one additional time to treat any areas that stick up from the base coat of the sealer. The floor is now ready for the final finish.
• Step 7 – Next, we will apply 2 coats of top finish, which is a 1 or 2 pack lacquer depending on the specifics of the floor. We will apply oils if a colour change has taken place or if a premium level of smoothness is requested. 
• Step 8 – When the topcoat is dry, the floor is ready for customer sign-off. You can generally walk on the floor with socks and slippers after a few hours. Furniture can then be gently moved back into position at this point. The service can be arranged out of hours if necessary so as not to disrupt the business.

When the work is complete, full maintenance advice is given and after-care products will be provided if needed.
